PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that informs a user that the user is in an imaging spot and imaging timing for photographing a desired image. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging instruction information storage section for storing imaging instruction information including an imaging position that is a position at which an instruction to carry out imaging should be given to a user and an imaging direction that is a direction in which imaging should be carried out from the imaging position; a position detecting section for detecting the position of the imaging apparatus; and an imaging instructing section for instructing the user to carry out imaging on condition that a distance between the imaging position stored in the imaging instruction information storage section and the position detected by the position detecting section is shorter than a preset distance, and for instructing the imaging direction from the imaging position.
