PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce labors when determining a threshold value, for example, in introduction of a programmable controller (PLC) system provided with an external equipment deterioration diagnostic mechanism, to save a required time until determining the threshold value, and to secure the same operation both in a system introduction and in a system operation, so as to collect a data of high reliability, as to the PLC system capable of referring directly to a deterioration diagnostic result by a ladder diagram, by notifying the deterioration diagnostic result of an external equipment carried out in a remote input and output device side, to a programmable controller unit side, via communication. SOLUTION: This programmable controller system is added with a threshold value setting support device having a data collection means for collecting a data corresponding to a time difference generated in a remote input and output device or a deterioration feature quantity therein, without assembling a data collection function in a user program of a programmable controller unit, a threshold value determination means for determining the threshold value for deterioration diagnosis, using a statistical method, based on data corresponding to the time difference or the deterioration feature quantity collected by the data collection means, and a threshold value setting means for setting the threshold value for the deterioration diagnosis determined by the threshold value determination means in the remote input and output device.
