PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable sensitive material having high sensitivity and high maximum density and ensuring little printout fogging after image formation. SOLUTION: The heat developable sensitive material has at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on at least one surface of a support, wherein the heat developable sensitive material contains a compound represented by formula (1) wherein Ch represents S, Se or Te; A represents O, S, Se, Te or NR<SP>4</SP>; R<SP>1</SP>represents H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, a heterocyclic group or acyl; R<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>each represent H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group; X represents a substituent; n<SP>1</SP>represents an integer of 0-4; L represents N, S, Se, Te or the like; and n<SP>2</SP>represents 0 or 1.
