PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document data transmitting/receiving apparatus capable of enhancing convenience while maintaining security. SOLUTION: In the document data transmitting/receiving apparatus, it can be set whether or not transmitter selection is defined as a condition of transmission. If there is setting, when setting data are input in a transmission setting picture indication, transmission can not be performed without selecting a user who has been stored as user information, as a transmitter (S204). Once a transmitter is selected, a transmitter setting flag is set and the flag set user information may be used as transmitter information in subsequent transmission processing.
