<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise packaging structure which easily and adequately seals merchandise to be packaged with a packaging film, and facilitates opening of sealing. <P>SOLUTION: The merchandise packaging structure is set up by superposing and sealing both right and left sides of the packaging film having heat-shrinkable properties on each other to form a cylindrical package having a rear laminate portion 3, by inserting the merchandise 1 to be packaged into the cylindrical package, by fusion-cutting and sealing front and rear ends of the package to form a package 2 with fusion-cut sealing portions 4, and by subjecting the package 2 to heat shrinkage to bring it into intimate contact with the merchandise 1 to be packaged. Herein the packaging film forming the rear laminate portion 3 has a first side portion 5 with a large width on its left side and a second side portion 6 with a small width on its right side, and a free end of the first side portion 5 is folded back toward a proximal end as a folded portion, whereby the folded portion and the second side portion 6 cooperatively form a three-layered superposed portion.
