PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join two kinds of metallic members made of different materials without using a large and expensive apparatus. SOLUTION: In the method for joining two kinds of metallic members made of different materials, two kinds of the metallic members are brought in contact and/or proximity with each other. In this state, one and/or both metallic members in contact and/or proximity with the metallic members are peened with shots under required conditions so as to draw the end portions of the metallic members.
