914,619. Cable supports. BURNDY CORPORATION. Jan. 30, 1961 [Feb. 4, 1960], No. 3380/61. Class 36. [Also in Group XXV] A connector (Fig. 7) for detachably connecting adjacent ends of two structural elements each provided with at least one hole comprises a substantially U-shaped member having two straight side limbs 703, 705 which diverge at equal obtuse angles, from a straight bridge piece 711 which extends between and is integral with the side limbs, one of the limbs having screw threads 717 at its free end to accommodate a nut and the other of the limbs also having screw-threads 721 or an abutment extending away from the limb. The inclination of the side limbs draws the structural elements towards each other when the nut or nuts are screwed on to the threads. When an abutment is provided it is approximately at right-angles to the limb and, if desired, can be flattened and be provided with an aperture for bolting to a structural element. In a modification, Figs. 1 and 4, two of the connectors defined above are joined together by a common integral abutment 15 the corresponding limbs 5, 9 and 3, 7 and the bridge pieces 11, 13 being parallel. |
