PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an offset crank mechanism by performing a few changes on an existing structure in a split type cylinder block. SOLUTION: In the split type cylinder block 11 provided with a cylinder block main body 12 and a cylinder liner 13, a piston 31 is reciprocatably stored in a cylinder bore 20 of a liner main body 18, and the piston 31 is connected to a crank pin 34 of a crank shaft 16 via a connecting rod 33. The cylinder liner 13 is fastened to an outer wall part 15 at an upper deck part 19. A side on which the crank pin 34 is positioned before the piston 31 reaches top dead center is defined as a thrust side in this cylinder block 11. Wall thickness t1 of a part 18A in the thrust side of a cylinder bore 29 of the liner main body 18 is established larger than wall thickness of a part in the thrust side when a center line L2 of the cylinder bore 20 crosses a center line L1 of the crank shaft 16.
