<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of outputting an image having high image quality over a long term by decreasing the stress of developer arised in a developing device. <P>SOLUTION: A developer supply roller 44 supplying the developer to a developing roller 41 comprises a rotating sleeve and a magnet body arranged inside the sleeve, and is constituted to move to a plurality of stop positions by rotating the magnet body in the inner periphery direction of the sleeve. The image forming apparatus controls so that the developer may be supplied to the developing roller through the supply roller from a developer stirring part in the developing device by setting the magnet body inside the supply roller to the 1st stop position for a time equivalent to the inside of an image forming area in an image forming mode, and the amount of the developer supplied to the developing roller 41 may be made small by setting the magnet body inside the supply roller to the 2nd stop position for the time equivalent to the outside of the image forming area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
