摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an ultrasonic surgery system which can examine a malfunction condition and abnormality of a handpiece early. SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the ultrasonic surgery system where a handpiece with an ultrasonic vibrator which can generate ultrasonic vibration and a main device with an oscillation means to generate a driving signal for driving the ultrasonic vibrator are connected detachably, a sweeping step which sweeps the frequency of the oscillation means in a given frequency range, a detecting step which detects an impedance of the ultrasonic vibrator when the drive frequency of the driving signal is changed in the sweeping step, a malfunction discriminating step which compares the detected results of the detecting step with internal data which are stored beforehand in a memory means provided on the handpiece and discriminates the malfunction of the handpiece, and a notifying step which notifies the malfunction when discriminated as malfunction in the malfunction discriminating step, are provided.
