PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve combustion stability by suppressing variation of a fuel spray in a fuel injection device. SOLUTION: A fuel passage 51 is disposed in a housing 41, a sack part 44 communicating with the fuel passage 51 and an injection hole 45 are formed to a tip part of the housing 41. A needle valve 46 is supported by the housing 41 to be movable and open/close the fuel passage 51. The injection hole 45 is inclined upward by a predetermined angle to set an injection angleα, and a spray angleβis set to be formed in a fan-like shape widened to diffuse the fuel spray from side to side. An upstream end in a fuel flow direction at the injection hole 45 has a rectangular sectional shape, and on the other hand, a downstream end in the fuel flow direction has an U-shaped sectional shape.
