<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the broadcasting service of an internet protocol base through a passive optical subscriber network. <P>SOLUTION: When a broadcasting channel is selected by an IP (Internet Protocol) broadcasting service subscriber, an IP set top box transmits a service request for an applicable channel to an ONU/ONT, equipped by the subscribers of the optical subscriber network, as a channel selecting message, then, the ONU/ONT transmits the message to an OLT (Optical Line Terminal) linked with the broadcasting server or a high order network equipment (router or the like) and, thereafter, a port which has received the message and the multicast group MAC address of the applicable channel are stored into a mapping table, then, the OLT which has received the message extracts the MAC address and requested broadcasting channel to determine whether the service is to be provided or not through a subscriber information and when the subscriber joins the service, broadcasting data is transmitted to the applicable ONU/ONT to transmit the broadcasting data to the IP set top box which requested the same while referring to the mapping table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
