<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system and a display language setting method for easily setting a display language. <P>SOLUTION: This display system is provided with a display part 2, a switching instructing means 8, a language switching means 9 and a language selecting means 10. The display part 2 serves as a section which is able to display a predetermined display picture and a language selection picture including the list of a plurality of language names which can be selected as the display language of the display picture. A switching instructing means 8 serves as a means for instructing the switching of a language to express the list on the language selection picture. A language switching means 9 serves as a means for switching the language to express the list on the language selection picture when the switching of the language is instructed by the switching instructing means 8.
