A window pivot comprises a plate 1 formed with a bearing bush or sleeve 11 and a plate 2 formed with a hollow trunnion 21 rotatable in the bush, the amount of friction between the bearing surfaces of the trunnion and the bush being relatively small, the trunnion containing a friction ring 3 which rubs against the inside of the trunnion and is axially but non-rotatably movable on a pin 12 projecting from the bush into the trunnion, and the movement of the ring being effected by a headed adjusting screw 4. The pin has a non-circular section, and the ring may have a conical peripheral surface, as shown, to mate with a complementary surface of the trunnion or may be cylindrical and mate with an inwardly directed flange on the trunnion. Recesses 41 are formed around the periphery of the head of the screw for engagement by a pin passed through a radial hole in the plate 2, so that the screw can be adjusted by turning the window. |
