RUBBER COMPOSITION AND POWER TRANSMISSION BELT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition and power transmission belt with high strength and excellent in wear resistance effect.

SOLUTION: This V-type ribbed belt 1 has a structure constituted in such a way that a core wire 3 is buried along the longitudinal direction of the belt in a bonding rubber layer 2 and a compression rubber layer 4 provided with a plurality of ribs in the longitudinal direction of the belt under the bonding rubber layer 2 and a basic cloth 5 as an expansion layer are laminated on an upper part of the bonding rubber layer 2. In this compression rubber layer 4, 1-40 parts by mass of polyparaphenylenebenzobisoxazole short fibers are formulated per 100 parts by mass of the rubber, and bonding treatment is applied to the short fibers in filament state by a treatment liquid containing nitrile rubber-modified epoxy resin and alkyl phenol-formaldehyde resin.
