PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the density of an output image from changing significantly in an image forming apparatus using dark and light toners in combination. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a developing unit for dark toner; a dark toner replenishing device for replenishing dark toner into the developing unit for dark toner; a developing unit for light toner; a light toner replenishing device for replenishing light toner into the developing unit for light toner; and a toner replenishment control device for performing operational control of the dark toner replenishing device and the light toner replenishing device. The toner replenishment control device 302 has a toner replenishment history storage section 353 for dark toner and a toner replenishment history storage section 354 for light toner. When light toner is replenished, a light toner replenishing operation is corrected by reference to the replenishment history of dark toner and operational control of the light toner replenishing device is performed. When dark toner is replenished, a dark toner replenishing operation is corrected by reference to the replenishment history of light toner and operational control of the dark toner replenishing device is performed.
