PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide supporting structure for glass plates which surely supports glass plates in simple constitution even if it is a narrow glass plate having the vertical length longer than the lateral length or a large sized glass plate, and can prevent brocken glass plates from scatteriy and falling without degrading the strength against both load of vertical load due to the deal load or the like of the glass plates and outward load on the plane due to wind pressure or the like. SOLUTION: The upper sides and the lower sides of a plurality of glass plates G provided standingly and side by side are respectively supported and fixed with an upper frame and a lower frame, a supporting metal fitting 1 fasteningly sandwiching the butt joint part 11 of the vertical sides of the adjoining glass plates G is fixed to a structural building frame 8, and hence the glass plates G are supported. In this case, a fastening bolt 6 having a flange part is inserted through the joint part 11 between the vertical sides of the adjoining glass plates G through an annular cushioning material, it is threadedly engaged with the female screw part 7b of the cylindrical projecting part 7a provided on the nearly center part of a fitting member 7 fixed to the structural building frame 8, further the male screw part of the cylindrical projecting part 7a is engaged with the female screw part 6a of an annular fastening nut 6 to be fastend, and hence the glass plates G are fasteningly sandwiched from both sides of the vertical end edges.
