PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new structure and a new construction method for preventing the lift of a manhole, which can surely prevent the lift of the manhole by making the manhole and a drain pipe maintain an integral relationship even on the occurrence of an earthquake, and which can be easily applied even to an existing manhole. SOLUTION: A plurality of drain pipes 2-6 with water passing properties, which are buried around the manhole 1, and coupling pipes 7-11, which are connected and fixed to the drain pipes 2-6 at the upper ends or midway parts of the drain pipes 2-6 and which communicate with the drain pipes 2-6, are buried in the ground; the coupling pipes 7-11 and the manhole 1 are connected together via a connecting pipe 18 which is inserted into a through-hole formed in the side part of the manhole 1; water intruding into the drain pipes 2-6 flows into the manhole 1 via the coupling pipes 7-11 and 12-17, and the connecting pipe 18.
