PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of recording stream data to a recoding medium in such a state that operation restrictions set to the stream data are surely executed.

SOLUTION: Stream data received by a stream reception part 101 is separated into a media data and attribute information by a data separation part 102. The attribute information is analyzed by a program information analysis part 103, and management data is generated by a management data generation part 104. Media data and management data are encrypted on the basis of a prescribed encryption key by a multiplexing/encrypting part 105, and encrypted multiplex data are recorded to the recording medium in a prescribed format by a data recording part 106.
