PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rubber/filler masterbatch having a stable filler-dispersed state and developing excellent rubber properties. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following steps of adding a diene rubber organic solvent solution to aqueous slurry of at least one member selected from carbon black, silica, and a filler represented by formula (I): nM<SB>1</SB>-xSiO<SB>y</SB>-zH<SB>2</SB>O [wherein M<SB>1</SB>a metal selected from Al, Mg, Ti, Ca, and Zr; an oxide or hydroxide (including a hydrate) thereof; and a carbonate thereof]: (1) (i) keeping the volume mean particle diameter of the filler in the aqueous slurry at 25μm or smaller and keeping the 90 vol% particle diameter at 30μm or smaller, and (ii) keeping the oil absorption of the filler dried after being recovered from the aqueous slurry at 93% or higher of that before being dispersed in water, (2) mixing the aqueous slurry with the rubber solution by agitation, (3) coagulating the rubber in water while heating the mixture to the azeotropic point or higher to remove the organic solvent, and (4) drying the obtained rubber under shear after dehydration.
