PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus for indicating an output characteristic without causing discontinuity up to a high luminous quantity region and attaining a considerably wide dynamic processing. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus 1 includes a plurality of pixel sections 10a two-dimensionally arranged to acquire a two-dimensional image, and each pixel section 10a includes: a photoelectric conversion element PD for converting incident light into electric charges; a floating diffusion FDa for storing excess electric charges of an ordinary luminous quantity representing a luminous quantity smaller than a saturation electric charge amount converted by each photoelectric conversion element PD and within a prescribed amount; a floating diffusion FDb for storing electric charges of a high luminous quantity converted by each photoelectric conversion element PD and in excess of a prescribed amount; a MOS transistor Q11a for transferring electric charges of the ordinary luminous quantity converted by each photoelectric conversion element PD to the floating diffusion FDa; and a MOS transistor Q11b for transferring electric charges of the high luminous quantity converted by each photoelectric conversion element PD to the floating diffusion FDb.
