FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of removing residual stresses appearing in welded joints in process of welding. Method includes acting onto crystallizing metal of welded joint by ultrasonic vibrations from ultrasonic vibrator. Vibrator is installed at a distance of 50-150 mm from axis of welded joint, depending on welding conditions, and at angle of 10-20° to plane of welded joint. ^ EFFECT: improved efficiency of removal of residual stresses in welded structures, their reliability and longevity. ^ 1 dwg
