PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an electrical component in which both thinning of a housing and spring characteristics of a contact terminal are made compatible. SOLUTION: In the socket for the electrical component composed of a box-shaped housing 1 opened upward to which the electrical component 50 having a plurality of contact parts 54 at the bottom face 52 are attached, and thin plate-shaped contact terminals 10 which are installed at the housing 1 in a plurality of numbers and which have a connecting part 11 to which the contact part 54 of the electrical parts 50 is contacted, the contact terminal 10 is provided with a fixed part 12 fixed to a side wall 2 of the housing 1, a first terminal part 13 extending toward inside of the housing 1 from the lower end part of the fixed part 12, a second terminal part 15 extending toward upward the side wall 2 side of the housing 1 via a first folding part 14 from the first terminal part 13, and a third terminal part 17 extending toward upward inside of the housing 1 via a second folding part 16 from the second terminal part 15, and the connecting part 11 is formed at the tip part of the third terminal part 17.
