摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator having excellent rigidity, in relation to a structure of an illuminator using, in particular, a straight tube-like fluorescent tube. SOLUTION: Rigid plate-like structures 2 are fixed at both ends of an elongated rigid tubular structure 1, respectively, so as to perpendicularly cross the major axis of the tubular structure 1, and two straight tube-like fluorescent tubes 3 are mounted between the plate-like structures 2. A first reflector 4 is mounted between the tubular structure 1 and the fluorescent tubes 3, and a panel-like light diffusion/transmission body 5 is mounted so as to cover the lower side of the fluorescent tubes 3. High rigidity is kept by the tubular structure 1 and the pair of plate-like structures 2, and the straight tube-like fluorescent tubes 3 are firmly supported between both the plate-like structures 2. Light emitted from the respective fluorescent tubes 3 is entered into the light diffusion/transmission body 5 after being reflected by the first reflector 4, diffused by the light diffusion/transmission body 5 and emitted to a lower irradiation area.
