PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst converter for exhaust emission control, capable of holding catalyst components on a catalyst carrier without causing the leakage of a catalyst solution from a mating gap in a holding seal body during supplying the catalyst solution to the catalyst carrier. SOLUTION: The catalyst converter for exhaust emission control comprises the catalyst carrier 1 and the holding seal body 2 provided in a body shell. In forming the holding seal body 2, an inorganic fiber mat material 200 longer than the outer periphery of the catalyst carrier is wound on the catalyst carrier 1. An extra portion 23 is formed at one end 21 of the inorganic fiber mat material 200. After the extra portion 23 is cut, both ends 21, 22 of the inorganic fiber mat material 200 are opposed to each other to form the holding seal body 2. |
