<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively control the luminance of an image by the degree of luminance of the image. <P>SOLUTION: The adaptive image brightness control apparatus includes a brightness increment parameter setting unit 160, an average brightness arithmetic unit, a parameter arithmetic unit and a brightness control unit 169, the brightness increment parameter setting unit 160 inputs a frame image and in the average brightness arithmetic unit, average brightness of the frame image is computed. In the parameter arithmetic unit, based on a control signal including the average brightness and a scale value required for improving brightness, a brightness increment parameter is computed and outputted to a brightness control unit 169, and the brightness control unit 169 computes and outputs a brightness value improved for each pixel in response to a frame image and the brightness increment parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
