<p>An IP/ISDN/PSTN gateway provides an IP secure telephone with the capability of interfacing to either an ISDN-configured SCIP secure telephone or a PSTN-configured SCIP secure telephone. A translation function is performed between multiple protocols that allows IP secure telephones to communicate with SCIP secure telephones on ISDN and/or PSTN network(s). The gateway, in conjunction with a call manager, establishes a connection that accommodates the flow of voice and/or data traffic between an IP secure telephone and an SCEP secure telephone. One or more call managers on the IP network arrange and maintain call connectivity between an IP secure telephone and the "IP" side of the gateway. The "ISDN/PSTN" side of the gateway, in turn, provides an interface to support the flow of voice and/or data traffic to/from an SCIP secure telephone located on an ISDN or PSTN network.</p> |
