<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform appropriate exposure control adjusted to the states of various objects and a use environment by using shutter/diaphragm/gain/illumination light quantity to perform exposure control. <P>SOLUTION: In a step 1, the maximum light quantity limited quantity and the minimum light quantity limited quantity of an auxiliary illumination are set. When the present exposure value is dark in a step 2, in a step 3, exposure control is performed so as to brighten the illumination of the object as much as correction quantity obtained by multiplying a difference between a target exposure value and the present exposure value by an illumination light quantity control coefficient α. When a required light quantity is smaller than the maximum light quantity in a step 4, the required light quantity is used as illumination light quantity after the exposure control, and when illumination light quantity exceeding the maximum light quantity is required, exposure correction is performed so as to attain desired brightness in a step 5. When the present exposure value is brighter than the target exposure value in the step 2 and the required light quantity is larger than the minimum light quantity in a step 6, the required light quantity is used as illumination light quantity after the exposure control in a step 7, and when illumination light quantity falling below the minimum light quantity is required, auxiliary illumination is turned off in a step 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
