Method of monitoring land or terrain and determining dangers from an unmanned aircraft using a camera

The method involves the aircraft (10) flying a flight path in a territory where danger is possible or cannot be excluded. The camera (14) continuously records successive first images of the area of terrain. The aircraft then flies the same path at least one more time and continuously records successive second images which are compared with the first images. The aircraft has a transmitter which sends an alarm signal to a base station having a receiver (72) and an image recorder (40) if a second image substantially differs from a first image indicating a dangerous situation. Independent claims also cover an aircraft for carrying out the method.
