PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning lens which is accurately and easily fixed on a scanning unit. SOLUTION: The scanning lens has a lens part and a pair of ends provided on both ends in a first direction which is the scanning direction of the lens part. The scanning lens is characterized in that the ends are provided with a positioning means used for positioning the scanning lens at a prescribed position. The positioning method of the scanning lens is characterized in that a fixing lib for fixing the scanning lens at a prescribed position and a plurality of faces having different heights and are formed on both ends of the scanning direction of the scanning lens and respectively provided on a pair of end parts of both ends are approached each other and mutually positioned, and the lib and the plurality of faces having different heights are combined.
