<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emitting device emitting electrons with high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This electron-emitting device 10 comprises: a lower electrode 12; an emitter section 13 composed of a dielectric material; and an upper electrode having through-holes 14a, and electrons are emitted from the emitter section through the upper electrode by the application of a drive voltage between the lower electrode and the upper electrode. An average diameter of the through-holes 10a is 10 nm or more and less than 100 nm. Thus much electrons are accumulated just under each of the through holes 14a, and a larger number of through-holes 14a are formed on the upper electrode 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
