PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an information input device which can be mounted on an electronic appliance which cannot have a wide building-in area and must be thin, and is capable of quick scrolling and facilitates display for music selection one by one or the like and can be constituted of the smallest number of operation buttons used as an enter key. SOLUTION: The information input device 50A comprises; an elastic jog belt 58 provided so as to hang across a plurality of transmission wheels 54 and 55 disposed at prescribed intervals; a rotary encoder 64 for detecting the rotation of transmission wheels 54 and 55 rotated by slide operation of the jog belt 58; and a switch 74 for detecting a pressing operation by which the jog belt is pressed in a direction crossing a direction of the slide operation.
