PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a conventional roller for processing fine recessed parts is expensive in the manufacturing cost and also it is necessary to change the whole in such a case that wear and breaking are generated in projecting parts caused by forming the fine recessed parts. SOLUTION: The roller R1 for processing the fine recessed parts with which the fine recessed parts are formed on a workpiece W is provided with a roller member 1 having a material harder than that of the workpiece W and which has projecting parts 1a for forming the fine recessed parts on the outer peripheral part and flange members 2A, 2B for holding the roller member 1 from both sides. The reduction of the manufacturing cost is achieved and also the processing cost of the fine recessed parts can be reduced by making the change of only the roller member 1 possible.
