<p>An image reproducing device, method, and program enabling quick display of the last image at the end of moving picture when the moving picture is reproduced at fast speed and the first image at the start of the moving picture when it is reproduced reversely at fast speed. The video coded data of the I pictures from the GOP from which fast-speed reproduction is started to the I picture of GOP#(N-1) immediately before the last one and the video coded date of all the frames of the last GOP#Nn are loaded in a stream buffer. After only the I pictures to the last GOP#N are decoded and displayed, the I and P pictures of the last GOP#N are decoded, and only the last image is displayed. The invention can be applied to, for example, DVD players.</p> |
