<p>A clamp head for a steel fixing (200) is configured to be self-supporting on a vertically disposed edge (216) of an angle or flange of a steel section (202). The clamp head includes an aperture through which a bolt (208) is intended to pass and an upper surface against which a bolt head (212) or nut (208) can be tightened, when securing two or more sections of steel work together using the steel fixing (200). The clamp head defines a channel (112, Figure 3) for receiving the edge (216) of an angle or flange, and is configured for maintaining the upper surface in a plane generally orthogonal to the plane of the angle or flange on which the clamp head is located. The clamp head can be cast or forged (Figure 3) or formed from a sheet of material (Figure 10).</p> |
