<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a managing system which enables to alter combination of machines (image forming devices) and memory cards by a specific means (old SD cards can be mounted on an alternative machine used instead of a malfunctioning device), though information of the combination cannot be altered easily (illegally copied cards cannot be used). <P>SOLUTION: In the managing system, the image forming device 22 is connected to a remote managing center 3 via a communication network. Combination of the image forming device 22 and usable memory media is registered to the managing center. When the memory media other than usable memory media stored in the image forming device are judged to be mounted, an inquiry of whether to use the presently mounted memory media is sent to the managing center via the communication network.
