<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface lighting device capable of obtaining an emitting light with high luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide body 2 comprises an incident end face part 7, a plurality of incident face parts 7a parallel to the incident end face 7 and a plurality of slanted face parts 8 connected mutually to these incident face parts 7a on the rear face portion 4, and emits light from the front face portion 3. The light sources 10 are arranged respectively in the vicinity of the recessed arc shape 7b of the incident end face part 7 and incident face part 7a. A reflecting body 11 is installed so as to cover other than the front face portion 3 of the light guide body 2. A case 12 houses at least light sources 11, the light guide body 2, and the reflecting body 11. The light from the light sources 10 is guided from the incident end face part 7 and each incident face part 7a into the light guide body 2. The light reflected in the direction of the front face part 3 by the slanted face parts 8 is deflected in its incident angle to the front face part 3 such as to break critical angle at the front face part 3 and is emitted from the front face part 3 to the outside causing taper leakage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
