The sheet metal structure (4) has apertures in the casting region with the light metal structure (6) and is coated at least in this region with an electrically insulating coating material. the coating material comprises oxidic and/or carbidic and/or nitride and/or boride compounds. The sheet metal structure can be a perforated plate or grid in the casting region. Independent claim describes method for manufacturing composite component by first making sheet metal structure with apertures and then coating same.
