The socket part and/or plug part (4) of the connector are placed in a receptacle frame in a modular fashion via locking pieces arranged in a housing. The socket part and the plug part are formed from plug and socket elements (16) in accordance with the USB standard. The housing may be inserted into an electronic circuit board aligned with the insertion direction of the socket and/or plug part.
