PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the precision and speed of processing in image processing based on a stereo method. SOLUTION: Images 1-5 photographed by cameras are inputted to image input parts 100-1 to 100-5, respectively, to be stored in a built-in memory, and then, read in a sequence canceling the aberration of lenses in the cameras for correcting a difference of a density value caused by characteristics of the respective cameras. SAD 200-1 to 200-4 calculate an absolute value of a difference of a pixel value between a standard image outputted from one camera and reference images outputted from the other two cameras. SSAD circuits 300-1 to 300-4 carry out block matching processing of outputs from the respective SAD circuits. Secondary approximation parts 400-1 to 400-4 perform the secondary approximation of data outputted from the respective SSAD circuits. Minimum value selection parts 500 and 600 and a result memory 700 select a minimum value of data outputted from the secondary approximation parts 400-1 to 400-4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
