Methods and apparatus provide for transferring data to and from one or more processors of a multi-processor system over a first bus at a first frequency; transferring data to and from one or more interface circuits over a second bus at a second frequency; and isolating the first and second busses by transferring data between the first and second busses at the respective first and second frequencies with the help of an asynchronous boundary circuit.
