PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable highly precisely reproducing dense and clear colors in a constant density. SOLUTION: In a first main scanning operation X1 and a second main scanning operation X2 (first scanning), rasters wherein dots (d) are formed adjacent to each other in the main scanning direction X are formed adjacent to each other in the sub-scanning direction Y. Numbers shown in the dots (d) represent the number of the nozzle which forms the dot (d). Then, in a third main scanning operation X3 and a fourth main scanning operation X4 (second scanning), the dots (d) of the same color are overlapped and formed in the position where the dots are relatively shifted in the main scanning direction X only by substantially 1/2 interval (1/720 inch) of the dot forming interval (1/360 inch).
