PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker using a method generating steam from a high frequency generater by a high frequency radio wave which is easy to use and of which steam generation quantity can be freely adjusted. SOLUTION: The heating cooker consists of a heating chamber 9, a loading table on which an object to be heated is placed, a rotation mechanism 10 for rotating the loading table 6, a high frequency radio wave generator 11 for generating the high frequency radio waves, an electric supply port 13 for supplying the high frequency radio wave to the heating chamber 6 and a temperature detection means 14 for detecting the temperature of the object to be heated. Ahead of cooking, an object 7 to be cooked and a water container 8 containing water are placed on the loading table 6 as objects to be heated and a control part drives the rotation mechanism 10 and heat the object 7 to be cooked after steam is generated by the cooking start operation for heating the water in the water container 8.
