PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger capable of realizing a counter flow constitution optimal for using carbon dioxide refrigerant with simple processing and assembling work and high accuracy, while securing high pressure-proof performance. SOLUTION: In this heat exchanger comprising headers, the whole of which is integrally formed by extrusion or drawing and in which a plurality of fluid passages are provided in parallel to each other and parted from each other, and a plurality of tubes connected with the headers in a state of respectively communicated with fluid passages at end portions, the fluid passages adjacent to each other in the headers are respectively provided with partitions, and a communication passage for communicating both fluid passages is formed on a partition wall between the fluid passages between the partitions by forming tube insertion holes on the headers.
