PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost of a structure for preventing dust from entering into a flowing-out opening of a case in removing of a filter element from the case. SOLUTION: In an air filter apparatus 1, a filter element 2 is held in a case 3 to be freely put on or removed, a gas flowing-in from an inlet opening 10 of the case 3 is filtered by a filter material 21 and then is made to flow out from an outlet opening 12 of the case 3, wherein the filter material 21, in which a bag part 25 forming an opening 24 is formed in the state of roll when being viewed from the side of the opening 24 and a marginal part 28 of the opening 24 adjacent in the diameter direction in the bag part 25 is integrally formed, is adapted as the filter material 21 and the gas is made to flow from the inside to the outside of the bag part 25. Thus, dust captured by the filter material 21 remains inside the bag part 25, coming of dust into the outlet opening 12 of the case 3 can be prevented in removing of the filter element 2, and an inner filter element for cure against garbage prepared in a conventional air filter apparatus is unnecessary.
