A sprue for an injection molding machine has a prefabricated insert (4) introducible into a recess or notch, insert (4) having tunnel sprue channel (1) in the form of a linear or film channel opening out laterally into a molding cavity during operation and running downwards laterally inclined to upper parting plane (5). A sprue for an injection molding machine has a prefabricated insert (4) introducible into a recess or notch, insert (4) having tunnel sprue channel (1) with accumulators (9) and also having in the region of accumulators (9) at least one lateral post-processing zone (2) into which a gate opening (3) can be subsequently incorporated, the novelty being that channel (1) is a linear or film channel opening out laterally into a molding cavity during operation and running downwards laterally inclined to upper parting plane (5). An independent claim is also included for production of the sprue involving introducing channel (1) in the upper part of insert (4) such that the insert can be positioned in a recess or notch of the machine, the insert (4) having a tunnel sprue channel (1) as above.
