An outdoor machine of an air conditioner, wherein the inside of a casing (1) is partitioned into a compressor compartment (7) and a heat exchanger compartment (8) through a partition plate (6), and a compressor (3) is disposed in the compressor compartment (7) and a heat exchanger (4), a fan (5), and a bellmouth (14) are disposed in the heat exchanger compartment (8). An electrical part box (10) storing electrical parts is disposed at the inside upper part of the casing (1). A heat sink (11) thermally connected to the electrical parts is disposed on the side face of the electrical part box (10) to face it toward the heat exchanger compartment (8). A shield plate (12) obstructing the entry of air from the heat exchanger (4) into the heat sink (11) is disposed on the heat exchanger (4) side end face of the heat sink (11). Since the air heated by the heat exchange thereof with a high temperature refrigerant gas flowing from a refrigerant inlet at the upper part of the heat exchanger (4) in the casing is prevented from entering the heat sink (11), the heat exchange capacity of the heat sink (11) can be increased more than before.
