IDENTIFICATION MEDIUM, ARTICLE PROVIDED WITH IDENTIFICATION MEDIUM AND OPTICAL IDENTIFICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification means that is difficult to forge and has a high truth judgment function.

SOLUTION: The identification medium 301 is obtained by using a paper material mixed with a polarizing fiber 303 having a structure in which a coloring matter (polarization developing substance) exists along the main chain of a polymer material constituting the fiber. When the identification medium 301 is observed through a polarizing plate, the polarizing fiber extended in a specific direction is emphasized and watched. When the polarizing plate is rotated, another polarizing fiber is emphasized and watched and the pattern of the observed polarizing fiber is changed. Authenticity is determined by the change.
