PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture an elevator speed governor by reducing the number of part items, miniaturizing a device, and reducing weight. SOLUTION: This elevator speed governor has a pickup 16 arranged in a car 12 or a counterweight in a hoistway and displaced with respect to the car or the counterweight in the hoistway according to a speed, and a connecting rod 21 directly engaged with the pickup 16, and is constituted so that the pickup 16 and an emergency stopper are directly connected via the connecting rod 21.
