The present invention is concerned with an axial-flow or mixed-flow inducer ( 3 ) which is disposed upstream of a main impeller ( 2 ) for improving the suction capability of a pump such as a turbopump. In the inducer ( 3 ), a blade angle (beta<SUB>bt</SUB>) from a tip (T<SUB>1</SUB>) to a hub (H<SUB>1</SUB>) at a blade leading edge ( 31 ) is substantially the same as an inlet flow angle (beta<SUB>1-t</SUB>) at a designed flow rate.
